I got personally burned by a similar scenario so would advise you not to go. Good college friend of mine was engaged with wedding supposed to happen about a year away. One day I get a phone call from her that she’s pregnant and they’ve decided they want to be married before baby is born. Now they’re getting married in a couple months time, (and here’s the kicker):

Thank you for your input, it has definitely helped me make my decision. I am going to wait closer to the wedding date to back out, I still am going to pay for the cupcakes i promised because it just seems wrong to back out of that. I will make sure they get delivered with a nice card from us. And I am going to start distancing myself from them leading up to the day eventually go no contact after.
