Western Redbud begins their second spring in SoCal- they’ve grown a LOT since we met, but they’re still figuring out seasons. They held half their leaves through the wet season and only made a few blooms on the lower branches.

I found dozens of (Convergent?) Ladybird Beetle Larva in the garden and decided to grab some close footage. Hopefully yinz enjoy watching them stalk the branches for Aphids as much as I do!

The subreddit for cute pictures of bugs, lobsters, squid, and other non-Vertebrata. Because they're adorable too.

I noticed a TON of Ladybird Beetle Larva (Convergent?) on Canyon Grey Sagebrush hunting down Aphids and tried to get some footage of them hanging out. It's fun just to watch them traverse the Sagebrush's sprawling, twisted branches!

Some footage of European Honey Bees on Arroyo Lupine and Dara's Choice Sage. Hoping to catch footage of NATIVE bees visiting as the temperatures begin to rise a bit.

While I wait for the native wildflower seeds I threw down start taking off, I've been noticing some weeds(?) I recognize and some I do not. Anyone know what 1) this red-stemmed, light green foliage plant is and 2) this upright stem with oblong leaves is?

Monkeyflower in bloom next to the self-seeded children of last-year's Arroyo Lupine, who tragically met their end by being pioneer plants in a freshly removed turf project. Glad to see they're living a better life than their parents.

Last year, I posted asking about some holes I found dug into my freshly-laid mulch, and some of yinz correctly identified them as being made by a Skunk! I did eventually get the chance to watch them dig, firsthand, but I never shared the footage. What a cute fellow!
