Why doesn't Vitamix make a pyrex jar? The Vitamix itself is BIFL, but the jar certainly isn't. This is my 1yr old jar next to a new one, after a year of making "bulletproof coffee," and using it to blend steamed vegetables - all warm/hot stuff, never scalding hot or boiling.
