No u should email them within 2 days after midterm. If you message more than two days later U just need a valid reason like not being well enough to email them and only got the chance now. It’s not a big deal they will approve.

Try emailing your prof, even though the syllabus requires 2 day notice. Admit your mistake and acknowledge what it says on the syllabus. The worst that can happen is they say "too bad, so sad." Better yet go in person to their office hours to plead your case. Best case scenario the weight of the midterm gets shifted to your final exam.

I just did, I 100% would go in person on my knees however I’m still pretty sick. How long should I generally wait for a response? Just in case I have to drag my sick ass over there on my knees for real.

How many reps are you getting? It's possible you need to increase your weights. I know if I get around 15 reps on anything, I start to feel like giving up. The higher the reps, the more fatigue. That's why having a somewhat lower rep range is better.

That's too many, in my opinion. If you can do that many, you could be lifting heavier. The lighter you lift, the harder it is to get close to failure. I mean, you do what you're comfortable with, I'm just letting you know what is optimal for results.
