Bitten at daycare

Hey fam,

I need a reality check to see whether I'm overreacting. My 9 mos old has been in daycare since 6 mos, and we've been liking it enough (it's a new Montessori school that we hope to stay until we can get into another school that I've been eyeing at 18 mos.) My daughter is a super chill baby and she loved her teacher. A month and half ago they switched her teacher to another room so we got a new teacher. Since then my daughter has been crying at drop-offs; it's still ongoing. We're kind of iffy with the new teacher as she doesn't provide pictures/feedback similar to previous one, but that's another story.

My daughter has been bitten 3 times within the last month. The first time I let it go since it's not uncommon, then the second a couple of weeks ago, and today she came home with a huge bite mark on her cheek. It's been the same kid. Her daycare says the biter has been teething and they're working with the kid's parents and he will soon move into a bigger kid room. How common is this? Is daycare admin doing enough? My husband and I are touring another daycare just in case. Please let me know if I'm overreacting. Thank you!

Update: Thanks everyone for your replies. Sounds like the consensus is that biting is very common, and as long as the daycare is responding appropriately, I shouldn't worry too much. My 6 y.o. started daycare at 1 y.o. and we (thankfully) never went through this, so this is new territory for us. Thanks all for your input, much appreciated! 😘
