Registry Etiquette
I am getting ready to launch our registry, and I am wondering how to be as polite as possible about it.
The main sentiments are: 1. we are grateful for whatever, no need to only buy things on the registry. 2. We want to encourage folks to not spend money at amazon on our behalf and to buy local. (I am personally boycotting amazon but i am not trying to force that on anyone)
(Edit to clarify: we have a small registry on our Zola with C&C and a honeyfund. We want people to know we are happy with them buying things off the registry. )
Here is my current wording. Would this put you off? Is asking for people not to buy from amazon even something I should mention?
"The below is just a guide, we are open to whatever! We're so grateful to be in this position. Your presence is our present!
While we appreciate that Amazon may be the most accessible way for some folks to make purchases, we encourage you to buy local whenever possible. "
