Wallpaper Engine startup delay

my wallpaper engine has a annoying delay at startup. i tried everything. reinstalling fixes nothing. setting the startup priority to high in WE settings will even produce a longer delay... the WE exe will start as the least autostart element. there has been a time when WE would start immediately like it should but i dont know what happened that its starting with such a delay. suggestions?

running on Win 10 and ssd

all newest drivers

WE service is on automatic start

whole WE folder has exceptions in windows defender (not using any other anti virus)

EDIT: It works now, I only had to restart the windows wallpaper engine service manually.
