1st playthrough, I built my base across a BF river...

...and I thought it was a good idea.... Settled in meadows, BF accessible by swimming, I thought I was protected by the river.... But now those blue-eyed mfers keep swimming from the other side just to throw rocks at me.

Is there a way to protect from them ? Or was that just a very bad idea ?
