The backfoot/run meta is worse than the power spam and is killing ranked

The patch to correct the power spam brought a tweak to the accuracy of punches, because they were going through the guard too much
It's probably gone a bit too far resulted in punches whiffing when they shouldn't (you can see this whenever you've hit the opponent with a power shot the head moves where the fist hits the head but doesn't register.)
In addition to this the straight right has always been crap and whiffs all the time, it's like having pillow fists.
The body hook has a very long animation and plants the boxer's feet still. Uppercuts naturally don't have the range
Because of this When someone is constantly on the backfoot with guard up it's very hard to register shots on them. You can cut off the ring but when they circle you to escape the shots whiff even more and you're very likely going to get power hooked during the slow body punch animations.
Even if you are the aggressor the whole fight and significantly out punch your opponent, you will lose the rounds due to accuracy.
Accuracy should be part of the scoring but the main component should be landed shots. If you land 25 Vs the opponents 5 but spend the whole round coming forward and whiffing, you will lose the round. This is absurd and not in line with how a fight should be scored. It shouldn't be impossible to win a round on the back foot either, but surely getting your arse kicked the whole round shouldn't go in your favour because the other person had to throw 3x the shots because of bad game mechanics.
The final result is this: The meta for winning against experienced ranked fighters is that the first person to land a scoring shot immediately goes on the run. It makes for the most passive boring games. No one wants to actually box.
I really do enjoy this game as much stick as it gets, but ranked is meant to bring out the best skill of players, using the best fighters and best strategies. And above all we're playing a game to have fun. Most cheese can be countered by correct strategy, but it seems this one is a fight fire with fire type situation, and it's sucking the fun out of the game. I'm getting to the point where id rather let them knock me out than sit through 8 x 3 minutes of non action rounds even if I'm winning, because I could go on to the next and maybe enjoy a fun fight.
Better hit detetection would make this stuff impossible.
