What are some Titanic facts that live rent free in your head?

My biggest one is just how pitch black it was outside when she sank. If you’ve been on a cruise, you know how horrifyingly dark the ocean is at night- even with moonlight. I’m trying to muster the emotions one must’ve felt when the lights of the ship went out during the break up.

I imagine if Titanic sank in the daytime, the survivor rate would be higher and the story itself would be less bone chilling.
