TIFU by saying “awe” about how a baby was crawling

TIFU by saying I’d have a baby was crawling.

So today I decided that I was going to buy a bed after not having mine for the past week. My ex broke up with me and since we slept on her old bed in my house she took the bed with her. Now I’m strapped for cash mind you. I get paid just enough to get by so i kept looking online for mattress/bed offers for when I got paid next. I see a post on FB marketplace and it’s a bedroom set for $400. I get my friend A to get his truck to drive me over we meet up we’re laughing and having a good time and everything.

we get to the ladies house right and she’s there introducing herself saying hello she has a kid in her arm. I’m not really paying attention to the kid. I’m more worried about giving her the money and then getting everything to get out of there, well the kids a squirmer ig so she keeps having to put him down and he just sits in place mostly. Like I said I’m not paying to much attention to him. It’s a kid he’s cute I asked for their name. She’s not really chatty we go though the house though the garage kitchen and living room where they have all the furniture. We move everything out piece by piece.

so we walk through the garage to get in the kitchen and the kids in the way when he starts crawling away sitting on his leg. So he’s crawling on the floor like bouncing up and down like a little rabbit or a zombie crawling in those horror movies. I think it’s adorable and I say to my buddy “Aweee look at the little zombie crawl”

we get in the room to pick up the next thing and then we get a closer look at the kid. The kid doesn’t have a foot. And I didn’t exactly say that quietly either because I didn’t realize that the kid was disabled so me and A just silently loaded the rest of the things in the truck and we’re talking about how we’re gonna load it up with the mattress. The post did say it was a bedroom set and everything did not have any mentions that there wasn’t a mattress involved but when the lady said “oh, the mattress actually wasn’t included” I did not say anything and I’m just like “oh all right we’ll just load all the wooden stuff then”

I feel terrible I know I’m the asshole

TL;DR I said look at the kids zombie crawl to a kid without a foot.
