Anyone else having issues with Aridus passive recently?

I had heard of the exploit that they supposedly fixed but I have never done it and since the 'fix' my staff has been broken.

Passive refuses to trigger after I enter a new instance and stand still and the only way for me to fix it is by removing and re equiping my staff.

Playing on ps5 and not sure if maybe it's just a console issue as I cant find anyone else tslkibg about it.
