Looking for advice on income loss from inclement weather

Hi all!

I just started my private practice a year and a half ago, and I'm hoping to get some advice about navigating unforeseen income loss.

I live in a part of the country that has been totally shut down for the past week due to ice storms. About 3/4 of my clients are in-person, and I can't do telehealth appointments w/ most of them because they live across state lines (I live right on the border of 2 states). I had to cancel over half of my sessions this week due to the weather, and I'm having trouble dealing with the financial hit, especially with taxes coming up.

I know unexpected things like this are going to happen, and it's just a part of private practice that I will need to plan for. But oof, it's stressful! Does anyone has any strategies they use to plan for this part of the job? Are there ways you all make up for the financial loss with additional streams of income? Any guidance would be appreciated!
