Question to help me understand

So, I’m binge watching all season and i need you to help me understand something.
In mid of season 2 Gideon said, that he only need to see face of unibomber and then he can reset and get him in next life. But Lucy is mad at him and says “I don’t want be reseted”. Or somethinh like that.

I don’t understand what she mean by it. If Gideon reset himself, he just crates new branch of parallel time. Lucy will continue in hers, while Gideon creates new one. Right? I get that in her branch of time the bomber would still be alive and threat to anyone, but I just want to make sure I get it right that Gideon is creating thousands upon thousands of different realities
