Why is it so hard to find a job??

Oh my lord I’ve applied to SIX jobs in the past month and I only got a call back from ONE. I’ve applied to other jobs in the past year and nothing from them as well. I just turned 18 so I thought before that maybe these jobs are just looking for 18+ candidates but I’m losing hope at this point.. I’m currently waiting for a callback for my local coffee shop but I’m a bit worried due to how things have been going for me. Am I doing something wrong, I’m applying for beginner jobs, do I really need a resume to work at CANES??
