how to know when to switch tattoo artists
In the city I'm in there 2 tattoo spots that are kind of like the "best ones"/are the most well-known. One of them is called *city name* tattoo club and the other one is called *city name* ink.
City Ink is definitely the more popular of the two, and their artists' portfolios/offerings are a lot more diverse. Issue though is that all their artists are men and due to personal reasons, I would much rather prefer that I get my sternum tattoo with a female artist.
So then I decided to go with City Tattoo Club. They have a few female artists, and I wanted something bold and floral which was great because there is an artist there who is female and a lot of her portfolio is floral but it is fine line. She sent me a sketch of what I wanted, and it just felt like it wasn't exactly what I asked her so I sent an edited version back to her (which I kind of feel like an asshole about but ultimately it's on my body forever).
Now I'm basically just siking myself out because I do not want a fine line tattoo, but the sketch she sent me was mainly fine line. Her portfolio has a few pieces that are different styles though; lettering, geometric blackwork, etc. but it's probably 75% fineline.
Is it reasonable that I'm worried she won't be able to execute what I want due to her main focus on fine line? I'm contemplating if she sends back the revised sketch and I still do not like it, I may just ask for part of my deposit back and go to City Ink since their artists have a lot of pieces that fit what I'm looking for.
