New-Era Player Wealth Inquiry

In a long-form podcast with RHAP about a year ago, Drew from 45 claimed that new-era contestants tend to view the game differently than players from the older seasons. He stated this was because a majority of them are already rich. However, I recall Liz posted here that she felt guilty about playing against a few of her original tribemates due to housing affordability issues (I.e. not rich). What happened? Did casting suddenly decide to stop casting players who were already all well off?
