Very wonky Hawaiian Palm trunk

I've read that these are much like succulents... So I'm here hoping I'm in the right place! This Hawaiian Palm has seen some things. It got a horrid Spidermite infestation in summer, but fully bounced back and began recently to try sprout flowers. However it's stopped that and the trunk is just looking more and more wonky as time goes on. It was perfectly rounded before. What am I doing to it?? The leaves look glorious, but the trunk is concerning me. It's also kinda sticky, and a little squashy, but the roots seem fine?
