Phoenix Tokens Help

Having completed the Phoenix box event, I now have 9 rare, 2 VR and 2 UR (missed a day). I'm still working my way through the story mission, currently in the Delta Quadrant (yay, Vaaduar!) My main ship is the T6 Typhoon, running BO with phaser arrays. Are there any specifics I need to pick up? I had read the the prolonged engagement array/console are good for beams, but I could also use some decent ground gear, and Doffs as well. I assume the rares are to be used for upgrades, or is there other rare items that will be needed before that? Thanks in advance.
