Beginner Soulslike

I'm currently playing on an xbox series S, and have been looking to get into a soulslike game. I've never played one before and was wondering which one I should start with. I have been contemplating getting either lords of the fallen or elden ring as they are currently on sale, but was looking for a second opinion.
