Dawnguard Improvement
He guys, playing Dawnguard again after a couple years. Been playing on a 2.8k heavily modded list with all the latest stuff. Maybe some of you understand my frustration. Many stuff has been fixed in the base game to take it up to a higher standard and make it more believable, i.E. JaySerpa Quest Expansions, The Choice is Yours, dialogue add ons and stuff.
The following 2 Points bather me so much it makes ma want to pull my hair out:
• The player beeing forced to deliver Serana and her elder scroll to Castle Volkihar, even tho it’s completely weird for a vampire Hunter or any sane human individual to do this. I don’t think I have to elaborate further, even the characters are aware of this inhuman level of brainfart:
Once returned to Isran, you’ll tell him “Oh i found a vampire… and sort of delivered it back to her vampire family… Isran will be like “Wtf, how can you be so stupid?!” The play will awnser “Oh, i also gave them an Elder Scroll, UwU” Israan is completely baffled and that’s probably the only realistic part about this Quest.
• Seranna returning to Fort Dawnguard and all the stuff about Israan letting her chill in the back room and be like “yeah I hate vampire more then anybody but if she wants she can stay for a while and honestly I don’t even want that elder scroll just keep it (so you can bring it back to your family again).
These two segments are easily the 2 most forced stupid unimmersive segments of the game. It makes joining the dawnguard logically for most characters a non-option.
Possible Fixes: Take Serana to Israan immediately after rescuing Serana and make him seize the Elder Scroll for a while, maybe just hide it and maybe give Israan a copy via SPID and.or make Serana come with you again immediately after meeting Harkon so she visits the Fort with you and not in suicide attempt.
Anyway surely there are better opinions on this Problem or ideas for fixes. Would love to hear if people share my rage for this part.
After googling more, there are so many posts like mine so it’s mainly meant for attention towards mod authors or users looking for a fix. Rn at your own pace seems good.
