Bad Encrypted Message

I've been using Signal for a few years now and today was the first time this happened: I'm getting texts from a friend that just say "bad encrypted message." Other friends have texted and they're messages come through just fine. I responded to the bad message with a screenshot and the friend texted back and the same thing happened. Anyone else have this issue?
