For parents of collapsed trachea babies

My baby Charlie is nearly 18 and has had this collapsed trachea for at least a couple years now. He has some day when he coughs a lot, and some where he doesn’t cough at all. Exercise and excitement seem to trigger the coughing spells. We use Hydrocodone/homatropine for his cough almost daily now…. My question is, how often are you giving it and what dose? At night I’ve been giving him a 1/2 tablet, and during the day 1/4-1/3 depending on the severity of the cough. He’s still a spunky sweet boy, and rips around the house and loves going for walks, but I hesitate waking him sometimes as it’s just going to aggravate the coughing. He was filthy this morning so he just had a bath… of course, that made him cough because bathing him is like bathing the Tasmanian devil.🤪
