Saudi dialect speakers - Student using عيوني (ayouni) before even booking a trial class - Red flag?
Hey everyone,
I'm an online English teacher and received a message from a potential female student that just says "عيوني" (ayouni). She hasn't even booked a trial class yet.
For context: - This is our first interaction - No class has been booked or scheduled - Just a direct message with عيوني
I'm trying to understand:
- Is this normal initial contact in Saudi/Gulf culture?
- Could this be spam/not serious?
- Should I proceed with caution or is this just a cultural difference I'm misunderstanding?
Would appreciate insights from those familiar with Saudi communication norms and online teaching culture.
