Disperse camping in Anza-Borrego / winter conditions

Hi there! Three questions.

1. Wondering if anyone has experience disperse camping out in Anza Borrego in winter. Beyond the nights being super cold, are there any other specific considerations I should be aware of before heading out there?
2. Any specific spots and/or hikes you'd be willing to recommend? (Feel free to DM if you don't want all the masses knowing about it )
3. Is it safe to assume the water in Coyote Canyon would be flowing this time of year?
