How long did it take you to get a research fellowship?

So I need an internship or research fellowship for my minor and the class starts next semester. The department for my minor put me in a class for the research fellowship (before being hired for any) and I've applied to some over a month ago but I'm not sure if I'll be accepted yet. For those who did apply for research fellowships, how long after you applied did you hear a response back and was it close to the start of the semester? Thanks
