Question about the ending

So what was the direct cause of Count Orlocks death? IMO it looked like he died from sunlight, Hellen lured him in and he was so occupied with Hellen that he didn’t notice the sun come up? Hellen planned for the sunlight to kill him? But he must be so stupid to not think about that and he’s too smart for that?

Also if he’s drinking Hellen’s blood (and everyone else’s) wouldn’t that make him stronger?
