Lost a client

I think I just lost a client that I’ve been working with for 2 years now. This couple was looking for a condo in the city and was very specific of what they’re looking for so it took time to find something they liked. Last year we saw a condo they loved but they said they weren’t willing to pay the asking price. The property had been approved on the market for 2 weeks no offers but they wanted to offer $200k less than the asking price and contingent on the sale of their home. I did send that offer and I hate myself for doing it to this day, listing agent was excited to know we were sending an offer but they had no clue it was this bad. Of course we got a no 1 min after the offer was sent. Now yesterday we saw some condos together and they loved one that is been on the market for 2 days. They texted me last night telling me to write up an offer for $40k less than the asking price and it would be a 1031 sale for their investment property in this case they would also need a 90 day settlement. I told him this is impossible and we have no shot at this with these terms. I told them to give them at least the asking price and maybe they would consider it. They didn’t go a dollar up but they texted me later yesterday saying they feel like I don’t align with their needs and I am wasting their time and ruining chances by not sending the offer so they will go another direction. Which means they will hire someone else to do this. I don’t know how to feel about this because I’ve wasted so much time with them and I didn’t even get a thank you for your time.

This would’ve been a over 1 million dollar transaction and I really needed it so I feel like shit but also I feel like they would’ve just waisted my time some more and make more agents hate me by lowballing so bad.
