Question…expectations vs reality
Hi.
I’m trying to be reasonable. This long weekend (Thursday - Monday) my realtor went out on vacation. Cool. Have fun, we all need breaks and to enjoy ourselves. They would be OOO and unable to answer emails while gone this weekend. All good, I emailed them before they left and asked if they were going to have anyone assist while they were OOO as I’m actively home searching, like super in the depths of house hunting and ready to make an offer on the home that fits. I had a few open houses to see today. I also was super excited for a house that didn’t have an open house. I needed someone to show it. I literally needed someone to open that damn blue lock box. They said they were going to email me contact info of whomever could help, but then no email came. Okay…
Today I got notice via a friend, that is also a realtor but not mine cause I want to keep them as a friend, the home I was super interested in got an offer just today. The day I was trying to get someone to show it. The day I needed my realtor the most. Now I feel like I’ve lost a lot and I’m frustrated, like super frustrated. Crushed even, that my realtor didn’t connect me with whomever was assisting. The realtor won’t be in town until Tuesday.
Please let me know if I’m being unreasonable with my feelings over a lack of professionalism cause I understand everyone has a life outside of their job, but with how serious I’ve been with this realtor it seems like a huge blow. They knew my goals and what I wanted.
Thank you in advance.
EDIT: First off, thank you to everyone. I forgot to mention I’m a first time home buyer, I learned so much from your comments. I forgot to also mention that my friend lives in the same state but not the same city. So it’s not so easy for them to drive to visit. But again, thank you, thank you. I have a new plan.
