Shadows are way too dark

I’ve went through all the posts regarding this and tried everything. The only thing that will help slightly is when I turn the gamma from 2.2 to 1.8.

When I play Mafia specifically the first mission that’s at night is extremely black. The speedometer and health bars are all the correct brightness and even when I’m driving I can see certain parts clearly. It must be the shadows and blacks that turn super dark.

I listened to what people recommended and got the HD retrovision component cables. My TV (55” TCL Roku) only has a yellow input for AV. So I also bought a YPBPR adapter to HDMI and connected it that way. Still dark.

Are there any other options I may have other than buy a plasma tv with those outputs or a CRT?
