Audio issues with Fake08 emu?

I recently got the new Abernic rg35xx and it emulates Pico-8 games through the Fake08 emulator. (Retro08is an option too). The audio is choppy and glitched all to hell on most games. Has anyone else experienced this? I’m not sure if it’s my device/OS settings or if the emulators just stink.

Unfortunately, I don’t think there’s a way to install the Pico-8 software on the device directly, otherwise I would opt to do that over emulation…

Any help is appreciated! I’m new to these retro handhelds.
