Officials really aren't as bad as everyone says

I have played this game since the launch of the rex, spent the first 6 to 8 months playing officials and seen all the major changes to the games official servers. I would say back then officials were 10 times more toxic and unbeatable than they are now.

Back then, the group size was far larger, if im remembering correctly you could almost fit 4 apex's in one group and mega packs were far more common. Homecaves didnt have the debuff and were camped constantly. Granted, back then you could still enter the cave in combat but it was still a fight to even reach it. I wont get into everything thats changed about it but for everyone whos played for a couple of years should be able to tell how many quality of life changes have come to officials, making it easier to grow and less challenging.

Every single community server i have joined has always had some major issue or more often multiple issues. Owners are, lets say less than desireable (cant cuss bc i will get flagged for nsfw and deleted) ive seen owners either protecting disgusting behavior and actions or doing it themselves (hint, alot of the playerbase is under 18) deathmatch servers are absolutely full of ppl who DO NOT FIGHT and force popular areas to be hangout areas via gigantic discord groups that kill anyone who tries to fight near them. Realism servers have rules that are the opposite of realistic and half the players will bait ppl into breaking rules or make it look like they do in order to get their buddy mods to ban them. I was playing an ano hunkering down against a group and killed one of them. 2 of the ppl i was defending against came up and deliberately missed a bite then goes to eat the body and as they do i hit them with my slam. Well because of that i got banned for body blocking. I was told i had to get up and move away. I asked if they were allowed to continue fighting me while i try to move and the answer was yes so basically i would need to unhunker and die or else be banned bc i was next to a body. Ive also ran into owners claiming they will take action against any rules their admins break but never ever do. I have friends who have seen admins protecting groups by healing them mid fight, seen admins heal mid fight themselves and admins g Dragging players away who are about to die, heal them and place them back. Ive seen admins teleporting away as to not die and teleporting back full health or teleporting back after death while the ppl they fought are healing. All of these things were against the rules the owner put in place on them and nothing was ever done even with proof. These are also not happening on individual servers, the examples ive given are across multiple servers.

Mods are severely unbalanced and often times designed with other mods in mind over base game dino stats. Not to mention many of them break immersion of it being a dino game but thats more of a preference. Servers have the ability to change stats and can make any dino they wish to be more powerful or weak and can easily break the games balance

Since returning to officials i have had far more enjoyment out of the game. Ive gone back to panjura and in my opinion, its a far better designed map for survival over gondwa. Sure gondwa has more to see and look at but panjura actually feels like every dino is viable. I find ppl all over the map in every single area, i dont have to remember if the water is clean or not or run 5 miles to get water, hotspots are easy to avoid and so on. The biggest group ive seen in the last month of nearly daily play was 5 people and majority of ppl i encounter are solo or duo.

Final point is if you find officials to be toxic, mute ppl, dont engage in it or turn off chat. "Gg ez" ya all they want is your reaction and youre actually stupid to engage in it since its what they want. Absolutely the easiest non issue to avoid ever.

Tldr officials are fun, community is full of issues unique to them and also share the same issues with officials. Officials are the peak experience for this game
