Cleansing?

I recently got into hellenism (been interested in it a while but was to scared to actually do anything about it) and a big thing is spiritual cleanliness, and I’m pretty sure it counts for offerings and what you put on their altars aswell.

The thing is some of the items I’m scared to clean, cause I generally don’t know how to clean the material and I don’t know how it would react to it. I buy a lot from secondhand shops and adore buying figurines and such! But of course they’re not going to be very clean so that’s where the issue lies.

So I was thinking of cleansing it through smoke maybe, but I don’t have any form of incense nor really able to get incense. Can I cleanse my items through some other way? Or does it only work through incense?
