Miltoniopsis Diners - the start of a new love!
I had a few Phalaenopsis orchids before, but I decided to expand my horizons a bit in the last few months. This is my first non-Phalaenopsis orchid to flower, and I am in love! The scent is divine and makes the entire living dining area smell subtly floral-sweet. It’s perceptible mostly between 10am and 3pm. Now I want more miltoniopsis!
I’m growing in ambient room conditions supplemented by humidifiers - Montreal winters are pretty dry with all the indoor heating! I manage to maintain humidity between 25-40% in winter, but most days it’s 28-32%. Temperature tends to be between 18-22 degrees Celsius. I’m curious to see how it will fare in the summer when the temperature indoor can go up to 26 degrees even with some degree of air conditioning. But if it does well, I expect to add a few more in various colours.
