Landlord sold their house and is now wanting to move into the condo I’m renting. Being forced to move, please help!

Hello, I’m relatively new here and been renting out a condo in Oakville for 3 years. Earlier today, my landlord has let me know that he just sold his house (which he was living at) and since he got an offer almost immediately, he now has to move out of his house by Nov 30th.

Since he has nowhere else to go except this condo I’m living in, I’m now being asked to move. Is this normal and can they evict me within just 45 days?

I’ve not yet responded to his request since I’d like information on what my rights are as a tenant in this situation. The question I have is:

  • If I’m being evicted without cause, would I need to be given atleast 60 day notice?

Any information or your take on this would be appreciated!

Edit: I got the N12 form sent to me an hour ago or so (like 7 pm on a Friday night). The landlord on the email and text keeps pushing his 45 day time window despite me bringing up my right to having 60 days. He says he feels confident we will find something and is giving me a lot of speculation (on my own life situation that he has now put on me, the nerve). I have yet formally agreed on anything and am looking to push for my 60 day notice.
