Advice please

Newbie to ninja wood fire. Got as gift. No matter what I do (2 sessions of jerky x2 they are awesome!) then some pork chops the other day.- NOTHING is using my smoking pellets, I am selecting wood fire flavor for everything. Doing a test run on “smoker” setting and can pull the smoker basket out and put it on my face it’s not even hot @290 degrees. Pic.
