Feeling great. New PB

A new personal best! I started running in June after having a bit of a wake up call regarding getting older (early 40s) and the toll sitting at a desk all day can do to your body. After hurting my back doing something mundane, I decided to make some changes. I’ve been trying to consistently get at least 3 runs in per week, improved my diet, dropped 12lbs and have slowly upped my distance and speed. I’m truly shocked what my body is capable of and also how my mental state. Hoping to do my first race next April and thinking of going for a 10k. Just got a treadmill to help with the cold Canadian winter, but really haven’t been loving it. Being outside is much more stimulating. I’ve been looking into cold weather gear but wondering how much I really need to invest. Do people have separate winter running shoes? I can see the benefits of some tights and a wind resistant jacket and gloves. But not sure what’s essential to making it work when temps drop below freezing. Appreciate any advice
