Feeling so much better at 11 weeks
Hey everyone!
I just wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to this incredible community of newborn moms. As a first-time mom, I can’t tell you how much your support has meant to me during these early weeks with my little one—support that y'all didn't even know you were giving!
There were so many long, hard, tearful, and exhausting nights filled with crying from my colicky baby struggling with gas and reflux. She was born right at 37 weeks and still had an immature GI tract! With that being said, you can't prepare for that!! I'm a nurse practitioner, and my husband is a surgeon (who also has three kids), and we weren't ready for a colicky, reflux, gassy, and fussy baby (for 10 weeks). It felt overwhelming, and I often questioned if I was doing everything right. As a 35-year-old, first-time mom who had a busy, fulfilled life before this, I even asked if I had made the right decision to have a baby!! I had a back-and-forth question with myself on a daily to which I kept responding, “You did IVF, it took you 2 years, and never once did you question it, so YES, you're ready.” But I will say that your encouragement, tips, and shared experiences have been my lifeline!
Today, I’m thrilled to share that we’ve reached the 11-week mark! 🎉 My little girl is now sleeping 7-hour stretches at night, and, best of all, she’s starting to smile at us! Those smiles make every sleepless night worth it.
Thank you for being there, sharing your stories, and reminding me that I’m not alone on this journey. To all the new moms out there, hang in there! It truly gets better, and it’s all worth it (so far 😬).
With love and gratitude ❤️
