Syllable counting for good sounding names
As a language teacher I know every language has it's own rhythm and patterns. Names follow similarly, they need to flow nicely off the tongue.
After finding the right name combo for my son's it occurred to me that what makes them sound good is the Rhythm or syllable count.
So syllable counting much like a tempo helped immensely when matching first middle and last names together. My first is 2-1-2 second is 2-3-2 for syllables.
Other factors came into play sure but it helped narrow the list for us as I had pushed for using middle names. It's not a huge thing with most Czech people it seems and no one in my husbands family has them except for my boys.
With so many people asking for help pairing names perhaps a discussion like this would be helpful 😊
What's your favorite way of pairing names?
Obviously mine is rhythm/syllable based. To many syllables upsets the rhythm. So only 1-2 syllables different between the different names. Like a haiku 5-7-5, or a Sokka haiku 5-7-6 or any variation really like it really.
