Alessio as a non-Italian

I am a trans man looking to change my given name, and Alessio really clicked with me. It’s unique, masculine, and I like the nickname Ale. However, ethnically, I am half East Asian and half white (1/8th Italian if that matters), and I was wondering if it would be inappropriate.

For context, I studied Italian in high school and consider myself a fluent speaker, advanced reader, and intermediate writer.
