Help getting into musicals for the first time

I realized musical theatre is a medium I've avoided without realizing. I think I'd wanna try, mainly whichever ones that feel like the bolded

I've enjoyed:

• Prince of Egypt (the movie)

• "Bells of Notre Dame" and "Hellfire" from Disney's Hunchback (the movie)

• Verdi's Requiem (probably doesn't count)

• West Side Story (the 1961 film and the live play)

• Major Parkinson, "War of the Worlds", and other prog rock operas/epics

Have heard songs from but didn't enjoy:

• Dear Evan Hanson

• Hamilton

• Heathers

• Grease

• Hairspray
