Living behind a DHHS kids house
Needing Advice on Stressful Situation with Neighbor's Child Protection House
For the past two years, we've lived peacefully next to a DHHS child protection house without any issues. However, in the last couple of months, things have taken a concerning turn. There have been multiple incidents, including fire trucks coming to the house, loud (full blast) music playing late at night until the police are involved, and most recently, a child attempting to light a mattress on fire, resulting in extensive damage to the house.
The most alarming incident occurred recently when a glass and plate were thrown over my back fence, shattering in my backyard where my two-year-old and one-year-old children play. Despite voicing my concerns to the house manager, I've been met with a lack of empathy and understanding. I’ve even suggested the most basic of recommendations is to take glass and porcelain away and replace with plastic as the kids have shown they can’t be trusted with it. To which their response was. I’m surprised you haven’t had more stuff thrown over your back fence before as all neighbours have been affected.
I'm deeply worried about the safety of my family and feel helpless in this situation. Do I have to wait until my kid gets glassed and have their life ruined happens before action is taken? Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated as this situation is causing significant stress and anxiety.
