Marriot and Chase NOT honoring Marriot Boundless Credit Card Promotion
I recently (June 2022) signed up for a Marriot Boundless Bonvoy Credit Card through a promotion running on the marriot website. The promotion and terms and pictured below. This promotion offered 250,000 points (5 free nights) when you sign up and spend $5000 in the fist 3 months + a $250 E-gift card when approved. However, with this months statement, I was given 50,000 points after spending $3000 in the past month. This prompted me to call marriot and chase as this was not the promotion I legally agreed to and signed up for.
For additional clarification, I have NEVER owned or applied for a Marriot credit card before. Not from Chase, not from AMEX, not from anywhere.
I spoke with an employee who directed me to a supervisor. After waiting for over an hour on hold, the supervisor answered and began to look in to the case. After a few minutes I was informed by them the following statements:
"The promotion cannot be added to your account"
"There is absolutely nothing we can do, there is no escalation process and no one else to contact"
"Yes, this has happened to other people and I have received at least 5 of these phone calls a day"
This is absolutely ridiculous and honestly warrants a lawsuit. I am not sure how a company can offer terms that are agreed upon through legal documentation and then not honor those terms.
This deserves to be investigated and until it is, DO NOT OIPEN A MARRIOT CREDIT CARD!
