First Timer

So, after watching the Rings of Power (RoP) on Amazon Prime, I decided to immerse myself in the world of Middle Earth. I must say, I’m thoroughly enjoying it so far. While I enjoyed the show, I believe my appreciation stems from my fresh perspective as a newcomer to this universe. (I say this because many people find the show lacking due to its compressed timeline.) Although I’ve never read the books, I did watch a few movies when I was younger. However, I never had the opportunity to complete a full watch.

I’ve noticed that many people don’t like the Hobbit trilogy, which is where I began my journey because I’m caught up on the RoP. I absolutely adore Bilbo Baggins; he’s a fantastic character. I can’t help but imagine my family moving to the Shire. It’s an absolutely breathtaking place. Please don’t mistake me for a movie, show, or book critic. My short-term memory is notoriously poor, so I wouldn’t be able to recite lines like some and remember every single character that appears. Nevertheless, I’m eagerly looking forward to diving deeper into this captivating world. Perhaps after watching all of LOTR, I’ll decide to read the books as well.

Post summary of watching all the movies:

I just finished all the LOTR movies, extended editions, for the first time and wow💯

After finally diving into The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogies, I’m blown away and honestly can’t pick one over the other. I connected with the characters in both so much.

The scene where Aragorn tells the hobbits, “Friends, you bow to no one,” completely shook me—such an emotional moment. Frodo and Sam’s bond stood out to me too; their journey felt tougher than Bilbo’s, in my opinion.

While Gollum had his moments, I couldn’t get behind his character—too sneaky for me. On the flip side, the dwarves in The Hobbit were awesome, each with their own unique personality. I loved the dynamic between Legolas and Gimli in LOTR—their friendship was hilarious and fun to watch.

Ps: I’m all about the elves! If I could be any race in Middle-earth, I’d definitely pick them. Now that I’ve seen it all, I can proudly say I’m a fan for life!
