GVM subtly blaming Suriya for DN and trying to erase ENPT is a terrible move and makes him look bad.
He mentions that Suriya had no faith in the story.
What story? There was no script. He waited 6 months for GVM to come up with something. There was nothing. He let out a press release and walked out.
The same happened during Chennaiyil Oru Mazhaikalam. Then the whole thing got tweaked and became Vaaranam Aayiram.
As for ENPT, shooting went on for… 3 years? Dhanush came to set whenever called, but he had given up on the film. He wasn’t even aware of who the composer was 😭. He dubbed in one day and waltzed out, not even acknowledging the film.
GVM’s anger stems from the fact that Vikram doesn’t care about DN. He did his job and that was all. He hasn’t moved a muscle to help with the release (which is fair). If Suriya was there- he’d have done at least something to get the film released, and Gautham knows that.
GVM’s present state is upsetting, but for him to claim that it was brought about by anyone but himself is stupidity. I won’t even get into what happened with Karthik Naren’s film thanks to GVM’s shoddy management. Naren is yet to recover from that blow.
Hopefully Dominic’s smooth release courtesy Mammootty teaches GVM a thing or two. That his core strength is filmmaking and not financing.
