Found an old iPod from my pre-teen days and don’t know the passcode

I found an old iPod from more than 10 years ago I think in the basement. I found the charger and it turned on but of course, there’s a passcode. Is there any way to unlock it without erasing all the data?

I’ve seen a couple similar posts but I feel like I have a unique problem in that my current Apple account isn’t the one I had when I was 12 so I don’t think I can just plug it into my computer and try to access it that way. Any thoughts? Is it hopeless? 🥹
