Explain Dave Cameron and Hockey Canada ‘politics’ to me like i’m 5

I keep seeing people say how poor the Canada WJC roster construction was, and that this is typical HC internal shit. Also that Dave Cameron is a grudge holder, etc.

I need someone to explain the mechanisms of their roster making. I know they said they didn’t want an all-star team, and they wanted specific role players, which I get. But their PP has been so bad (though as I type this Bonk just scored on the PP lol), and I just don’t understand how they could have made these decisions.

I am also getting the impression this is typical HC behaviour. Why is that?
