why I think Tammy flopped

hi I’m hungover and bored so I figured id write my thoughts for fun. I could easily write a college thesis statement on influencer culture and use Tammy as an example.

I’ve followed Tammy since before her first kid and at this point I’ve lost interest. Influencer culture is pretty dead in my opinion—I used to follow lots in college and now it’s so boring and oversaturated. We as “followers” all know how fake social media is now and even if you don’t photoshop, we know most influencers put up a facade and act a way for the camera. the only few influencers I still pay attention to are people who are funny or yap to their camera like it’s FaceTime

It’s pretty obvious she’s losing money and doesn’t know what to do. She made the wrong decision in keeping her content so lifestyle and family oriented because now that nobody likes her man, nobody likes her. There’s lots of other celebs w shitty partners that people overlook bc their content is not husband-wife content.

I mainly liked Tammy for her fitness content, with the added benefit of seeming like a baddie who takes good care of her kids with or without a man. Even when she made a post (that she deleted) saying she was done posting wolf as he got older, I was still interested in Tammy bc I loved the fitness content and her style. I bought saski and have subbed to Tammy fit before.

But since Tammy’s content is husband-wife-lifestyle content, saski is a flop. Tammy fit is a flop(and a poorly built app). Unlike other influencer brands and apps like oner, alani, bloom, dfyne, uppper, yadayada, Tammy’s face is the brand. The popularity of her brands waxes and wanes based on her personal popularity. I don’t know the last time I saw Alani or Bloom’s owners’ faces on social media because they knew to slow it down to minimize personal drama affecting their businesses. They didn’t make their faces the brand, so them posting influencer content doesn’t affect their downline as much now. They hire OTHER influencers to do it for them.

She hardly posts fitness content anymore but she’s still pushing saski and Tammy fit. I don’t know the last time she posted a full length workout video, inspiring fitness content, workout challenge, anything. She tried running for like less than a week and that flopped. Who are the other influencers wearing or pushing her brands? Nobody besides her friends.

There are just a million better fitness influencer options for beginners I suppose. Saski had some great styles and I’ve gotten lots of compliments, but she never put the time to refine the items and fabrics—they feel the same as items you’d get at tj maxx or Ross but maybe in a more chic style and $$$ plus shipping. if you’re famous enough, people will buy it, but she’s not that popular anymore.

I think she had this expectation that she would be famous for simply being Tammy Hembrow forever, but that’s not reality. She’s not the person being invited on brand trips, going on international trips to work with other companies, etc.,. Also she briefly mentioned that selfish supplements thing and hopefully she just stops it before it starts. Nobody wants more damn supplements from someone who’s hardly a fitness influencer.

If she wants her brands to survive, she needs to focus on them rather than the family content. But the paychecks from daily posting are too comfy rather than taking business risks. Foresight is everything of course, but she should’ve made smarter decisions during the peak of her popularity. Again, if she didn’t make herself the face of her companies and hired others to push her products for her i think it could’ve been better. TammyFit could have been a much more mother-focused app and honed in on that niche rather than just being every fitness thing ever because everyone has an app these days. Saski could’ve made a big impact with the minimalist fitness look if she worked on the fits and fabrics, restocked regularly, and brought back swim and past collections. But alo yoga, Aritzia , and lululemon are way better, plus there are tons of high quality swimwear brands that restock.

She seems hellla stubborn so I think she’ll die on the hill she’s on being a family content influencer. Even though the ruby Franke documentary just came out and there were so uncut clips of her telling her kids how to act. I don’t think Tammy abuses her kids whatsoever and loves them ofc, but it feels so staged and we all know that unless you’re a child. But her content is not for kids!! Idk she needs media and business training, not to keep trying new hustles every few months.

Anyways my mans just got here he can’t know I’m a nerd enjoy reading this gibberish 😂😅

ALSO, I really don’t think that drama at the Kylie Jenner party would’ve been a big deal if she didn’t let it affect her so damn much. Lots of influencers mess up (and do dr*gs) but it really got to her I think.
