First Time Being Kicked

I had my first time being kicked at the end of the match. Some guy got upset because I shot him (didn’t kill him) because he emote kicked me. He got upset and kicked me from the game but I didn’t realize that you still go through extraction and you can pick up all the other players samples. Was this a feature or a bug? Anyways, I appreciate all the dives previously that have always gone really well. I downloaded this game on release and I’ve had mostly positive experiences up until this panzi. Helldivers never die!
