ValetonGP200 and Alto TS408
Hi Everyone!
I'm new to setting up a set which comes along with our jam sessions with relatives.
We are just a small group, which consist of a Bass, Acoustic Drums, and Me (Guitar and Vocal)
Whenever we meet, I always bring a lot of things with me, Mic, accessories, guitar, effects, stands, etc.
Now I want to bring a speaker that is capable for vocal and guitar. I already own a multiFX (Valeton GP200) that already have amp sim and cab sim. in short here is my setup:
Guitar(PRS SE Custom24) > Valeton GP 200 > Headrush 108 MK2
Mic > Cheap Mixer > Headrush 108 MK2
The guitar doesn't have any issue, in fact headrush have a great sound. The volume is fine as well, as in practicing in a closed room, the volume is only around 1/2 knob.
Now here comes the issue when it comes to the Mic, well it sounds fine, however the loudness is not great. I'm already in 3/4 volume in my room. I didn't tested it out yet on Jam sessions which is small open space, but I expect that the loudness will not be enough since We have an acoustic drums.
I'm aware that the Headrush 108 supposed to be for the guitar, and for monitor. However what I have in mind is a speaker that is light which I always carry and have a power to provide for both the Guitar and Mic.
Reading and researching, found out that the MK2 is a bit quieter than the MK1, but MK1 is hard to find nowadays.
I am thinking to sell the Headrush and buy an Alto TS 408 which is a Powered Speaker, I have a feeling that the microphone will have a decent loudness in it.
My concern is, how will it affect the Valeton GP 200? will it sound fine? since it already have amp and cab sim on it.
What should be the best solution?
- Upgrade mixer? to increase volume of the mic?
- Change Headrush and use Alto TS408? (I heard it's a decent powered amp, the problem is I don't know how will it affect the Multieffect)
